Formats to appear in the media with your personal brand

There are different ways to become newsworthy, which is why today we are sharing with you 4 formats to appear in the media with a personal brand. And, of course, in addition to the format itself, the type of results that can be achieved. All of this with real examples from our clients in the health and wellness sector. At the end, you will find an explanatory video that we first released exclusively for our enews subscribers.

4 formats to appear in the media

  • Press breakfast. This format is useful for highly relevant information, as it requires journalists to travel to the location where you convene them. The advantage of this format is the sense of closeness it creates when speaking with journalists, who gradually delve deeper into the topic or story being presented. The result is very powerful, as it leads to well-crafted media coverage. As an example, you can see this article in Huffington Post about the Vigilantes de la Vida initiative, led by Yaiza Sanz from Somos Estupendas, which we presented at a press breakfast.
  • “I’ve tried it”. In other words, the journalist tries your product or service. This is what we did with The Breath Act and a Women’s Health journalist who took part in a workshop using this technique. The article states that she tried it (which gives it credibility) and explains in detail what it involves, talks about the founders, and more. You can read it here.
  • Press release. This is the best-known format and, for it to be effective, it is important to focus on valuable content. Instead of talking about yourself, what helps achieve greater media coverage is ensuring the content is useful for the journalist’s audience. Thanks to this approach, several outlets, such as ABC Bienestar, picked up the information shared by psychologist Daniela Constantin on intrusive thoughts.
  • 5:3 Method. Our proprietary method, with which we have proven that it is possible to secure high-quality articles by working exclusively on content for leading media outlets. The idea here is to propose a topic (in the form of a headline) to a journalist and, if they are interested, develop the content following their guidance. As an example, nutritionist Edgar Barrionuevo prepared an article for Cuerpo Mente about the changes a woman notices in her body at the age of 40.
